Abreanna Blose
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Abreanna is a senior at Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Originally from Canton, Ohio, she is eager to connect with different Southeast Ohio communities and learn more about the people and places that bring the region to life. When she is not immersed in her work at Southeast Ohio magazine, Abreanna enjoys contributing to The Post and Backdrop Magazine. She is an ambassador for the Scripps College of Communication and a Margaret Boyd Scholar.
Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, she can often be found reading, crocheting her next creation or cooking new recipes.
Emma Erion
MANAGING EDITOR
Emma is a senior majoring in journalism and also pursuing a minor in marketing. She is from Cincinnati, so she has some extra love for Athens thanks to Joe Burrow. Living in Southeast Ohio has been the biggest blessing for her and she can’t wait to continue to highlight the region through storytelling.
When she isn’t working at Southeast Ohio, you can find her working as a slot editor for The Post, covering hockey in Bird Arena or watching movies with her friends.
Caroline Kammerer
DEPUTY EDITOR
Caroline is a senior majoring in journalism and Spanish. She is originally from Cincinnati, and has worked for various publications such as Cincinnati Magazine, the Latin American News Digest, Backdrop Magazine and The Post. Caroline also dedicates her time to the Ohio University Society of Professional Journalists, the Scripps College of Communication ambassador program and as president of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
When she’s not working at Southeast Ohio, you can find Caroline bartending at Courtside Pizza, reading a good book or spending time with her friends.
Dylan Thatcher
MULTIMEDIA EDITOR
Dylan is a senior Carr Van Anda journalism major at Ohio University with areas of related study in math and geography. Despite growing up in Dayton, Ohio, he felt a connection to Southeast Ohio, having visited the region throughout his childhood. Now, he is eager to capture the beauty and complexity of the people and places found in our corner of the state through Southeast Ohio magazine.
When Dylan is not working with Southeast Ohio magazine, he enjoys playing bass guitar and writing about music for Ohio University’s All-Campus Radio Network (ACRN).
Mia Ashby
WEB EDITOR
Mia is a senior at Ohio University, majoring in journalism on the news and information track, with a specialization in film studies. Being originally from Columbus, Ohio, she’s excited to step out of her home zone and cover stories of those in the Southeast Ohio area.
Other than being seen in the wild across campus, you’ll usually find Mia in the Athena Grand spending way too much money on snacks. When she’s not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, she’s either hanging out with friends, spending hours drinking coffee at Donkey Coffee, or writing film-based columns for The Post.
Kenedy Stana
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Kennedy is a senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism on the news and information track, with a minor in studio art, as well as a certificate in social media. Originally from Pittsburgh, she is excited to learn more about the Southeast Ohio area and tell their stories.
When she isn’t working for Southeast Ohio magazine, Kennedy enjoys being a part of her sorority, Sigma Kappa, as well as serving as vice president of public relations for the College Panhellenic Council executive board. Kennedy is also a merchandise representative for The Collegiate Lineup where she works with students bringing their ideas to life. Outside of work, Kennedy enjoys being surrounded by her friends.
Bea Traum

Bea Traum is a senior studying journalism on the news and information track at Ohio University who will be graduating in December 2024. Originally from Cleveland, Bea is a frequent traveler and has experience working in the intersection of philanthropy and journalism through her internship with Press Forward.
When Bea is not working, she can be found spending time with friends, embroidering or drinking coffee at Donkey Coffee.
Kendall Bergeron
FEATURE WELL EDITOR
Kendall is a senior studying journalism news and information, with a writing certificate at Ohio University. Kendall is grateful for the learning opportunities she will acquire from Southeast Ohio magazine this year. She is also excited to learn more about the Southeast Ohio area as someone who was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio.
Outside of SEO, Kendall finds joy in the creative outlet offered by her position as fashion director for Thread Magazine. She also feels great pride in representing her favorite community news outlet, the Athens County Independent, as its editorial intern.
Jack Rabe
DESIGN DIRECTOR
Jack is a senior at Ohio University studying information design with a minor in business administration. Born in Cincinnati, Jack has lived in Ohio his whole life. Working at Southeast Ohio magazine, Jack is looking forward to helping others share their story.
When not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, Jack enjoys biking, backpacking, reading, and any other outdoor activities, as well as hanging out with friends and family.
Jessica Horner

Jessica Horner is a senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism news and information with a minor in photojournalism. She is originally from Canton, Ohio, and is currently the photo editor of the Southeast Ohio magazine.
Jessica is also a staff photographer and opinion writer for The New Political. She worked as a photography counselor during the summer of 2024 at Camp Androscoggin in Maine and is excited to work more in Southeast Ohio! Outside of work, she can typically be found listening to live music, in nature, taking photos or both.
Sabine Obermoller

Sabine is a senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism news and information, with a minor in retail fashion merchandising. Originally from Santiago, Chile, Sabine moved to Athens in 2021 for her undergraduate degree. She is excited to get to know more about the beauty of Southeast Ohio and the various people that make it such a vibrant community.
When she is not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, she enjoys reading, crocheting, watching movies and going to concerts. She also works as the director of public relations at Thread Magazine.
Lydia Perry

Lydia is a fourth-year senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism news and information, with a certificate in social media. Raised in Cincinnati, she is excited to learn more about the Southeast Ohio region.
When she’s not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, Lydia enjoys her positions as a Learning Community Leader supporting first-year journalism students and as an office assistant for Ohio University’s Learning Communities and Signature Academic Experiences office.
Matthew Dragani

Matthew Dragani is a senior studying journalism news and information with a specialization in anthropology at Ohio University. Matthew likes covering environmental issues, developments in music culture and photography. When he’s not writing, he enjoys producing music, playing basketball and spending an unfortunate amount of money on his dog, Dahlia.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Matthew has spent the last several years in southern Ohio and is excited to tell the unique stories that can only be found in this region.
Dr. Kelly K Ferguson

Dr. Kelly K. Ferguson is an Assistant Professor at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where one of her favorite jobs is advising Southeast Ohio magazine.
When she’s not teaching, she can be found chasing a tortie cat named Talullah, writing about Rose Wilder Lane in Albania, and shuffling paint swatches from Farrow & Ball.
