Connor Kurek is a senior this fall, studying broadcast journalism and Spanish at Ohio University. He’s from Muncie, Indiana and he interned at the TODAY Show last spring. At 30 Rockefeller, he helped with daily production tasks on the Plaza, in the control rooms and in Studio 1A. Connor researched topics for news stories, shadowed the show’s photographer and even took photos of the anchors and celebrities in the studio. Connor’s passionate about anything that involves a DSLR camera, GoPro or drone. He’s a product photographer for Brazen Beauty, an all-nature beauty product brand and at OHIO, Connor reports for WOUB Public Media, photographs concerts on campus and he filmed, edited and planned an interview with Andy Grammer. He contributed to a Student Production Emmy Award-winning newscast about raising sexual assault awareness with a video news story. Connor’s a campus tourguide and has helped organize and lead Scripps’ High School Journalism Workshop the past three summers.
