Families that have lived in Athens for generations and students that spend a mere four years have always held a special place for the town in their hearts.
Over the last few decades, the city’s residents and business leaders have taken drastic measures to create more sustainable living with locally produced foods. Local producers collaborate with restaurants and grocery stores like Kroger to discover local foods and support small area businesses.
Locals have long been supportive of this movement. In fact, it’s one of the things people say they admire most about Athens.

By choosing to eat locally, consumers actively make a choice to live sustainable, healthy lives.
