Addie is a third-year senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism: news and information, with minors in history and screenwriting and digital storytelling. Hailing from Sugar Grove, she is excited to delve deeper into the stories of those who live in Southeast Ohio.
When she isn’t working for Southeast Ohio magazine, Addie enjoys her positions as the Copy Chief of The Post, Acquisitions Assistant and Editorial Intern at Ohio University Press, and Success Session Leader at the Academic Achievement Center. To wind down, she participates in the Alden Book Club.
Carmen Szukaitis | MANAGING EDITOR
Carmen is a senior at Ohio University majoring in journalism news and information with a minor in linguistics. Originally from Wooster, Ohio, Carmen has lived in Ohio for most of her life. She is excited to take on her role to learn more about Southeast Ohio and all it has to offer.
When she’s not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, she is spending time with friends or working for Backdrop Magazine as its managing editor.
Ashley Beach | DEPUTY EDITOR
Ashley is a senior studying journalism: news and information with a minor in sports management. She is from Waynesville, Ohio, a town in the Dayton area much like those in Southeast Ohio. Ashley is excited to visit local farms throughout her time on staff.
When Ashley isn’t working for Southeast Ohio Magazine, she can be found in The Convo working on feature stories, spending time at the Alpha Gamma Delta house, or watching movies with her friends.
Sedric Granger | MULTIMEDIA EDITOR
Sedric is a senior at Ohio University with a major in journalism news and information, a minor in sports management and a certificate in podcasting. Originally from Columbus, Sedric has enjoyed visiting and broadcasting throughout many towns in Southeast Ohio. He is excited to continue engaging with the many communities in the region as a member of the Southeast Ohio magazine staff.
When he is not working with the Southeast Ohio magazine, Sedric enjoys play-by-play broadcasting sporting events for Ohio University on ESPN+, Athens High School on 970 WATH, and HBCU Baseball on MLB.com. He also loves energizing crowds as an on-field announcer for Ohio Bobcat football and basketball games and riding roller coasters at Kings Island and Cedar Point.
Cade Williamson | MULTIMEDIA EDITOR
Cade Williamson is a senior at Ohio University with a major in journalism news and information and a minor in sports administration. Originally from Newark, he has had a great time in Southeast Ohio, enjoying the various small-town community stories along the way.
When he is not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, he enjoys watching college sports, working in the Ohio University athletic department, and covering high school sports in the Athens and Licking County areas for print, radio, and streaming publications.

Max Abbatiello is a senior majoring in journalism: news and information with a minor in marketing. Originally from Cincinnati, Max is excited to develop his web design skills while also reporting on Southeast Ohio’s most interesting stories.

Ryan Maxin | BEHIND THE BITE EDITOR
Ryan is a senior at Ohio University studying journalism with a focus on news and information. He is also pursuing a marketing minor and a podcasting certificate. Ryan hails from Massillon, Ohio, and has spent a majority of the past four years in Athens. He’s learning to cook and has enjoyed using his fledgling passion for food to edit stories about Southeast Ohio’s diverse culinary scene.
When he’s not working for Southeast Ohio magazine, Ryan enjoys playing golf and reading. He is also a part-time breaking/trending news reporter for the Austin American-Statesman, a newspaper in Austin, Texas, where he previously held an internship.

Cole is a senior at Ohio University with a major in journalism news and information and a specialization in management and marketing. Originally from Powell, he’s loved sharing unique stories from around the Southeast Ohio region and is excited to continue this passion with the magazine.

Jamie is a senior at Ohio University with a major in journalism news and information and another major in women’s gender and sexuality studies. Jamie was born in Northeastern Ohio but considers Athens home. He’s enjoyed working with like-minded passionate students and collaborating with a creative staff.
When Jamie isn’t working for Southeast Ohio magazine, he is hiking at Strouds Run State Park with his best pal and canine sidekick, Biscuit.

Dr. Elizabeth Hendrickson | FACULTY ADVISOR
Since 2014, she’s taught the Southeast Ohio Magazine Capstone course at Ohio University. Dr. Hendrickson loves guiding young journalists in their exploration of the region and beyond.
When she’s not teaching, she can be found raising two active teenagers, researching media and walking her dog Andre.
